Description

Ohishi 11 Year Old Mizunara Cask Finish Japanese Whisky is a premium rice whisky distilled from malted and unmalted rice, fermented with groundwater from the Kuma riverbed in Hitoyoshi, Japan. It is aged in ex-brandy barrels for 8 years and then finished in fresh Mizunara casks for 3 years. The distillery, founded in 1872, is located in the Kumamoto prefecture and is known for its unique rice whisky production methods.

Smooth and velvety with flavors of honey, dried fruits, subtle spiciness, woodiness, silky texture, floral notes, satsuma segments, cotton candy, milk and cookies, fruity candy, maple wood, charcoal, brown sugar, caramel, oak, rice, and milk chocolate.
Finish
Long and lingering with a touch of sweetness, honey transforming to brown sugar, slight charcoal, tropical fruit, rice funk, oak, sweet peach, mellow neutral to toasted oak, and a floral character.
