Description

Old Bones Bourbon 10 Year Reserve is a cask strength bourbon aged for a full decade, bottled at 55% ABV in a 750 ml format. The extended maturation shows in its weight and depth, with oak influence running through the whole pour. The nose and palate center on caramel, oak and vanilla, with spice building toward a warming finish.

Nose
Fairly complex with hints of caramel, vanilla, coffee, toffee, and light smoke. Faint hints of ethanol are present.
Palate
Pleasant with a thick viscosity and a light smoky flavor. Flavors of cherry, vanilla, smoke, and char were present, with a tingling on the top and sides of the tongue and a mineral/medicinal note.
Finish
Long and pleasant from the heat and spice from the high rye mash bill. The unique combination of caramel and spice was enjoyable and lingered for some time.
