A historic Scotch whisky brand that was originally used to market whisky from the now lost Stromness distillery on Orkney. Earthy, gamey, rich, with gentle peat smoke, waxes, hessian, savoury, and salty notes. Elegant sherry, waxed oak, red apple, rhubarb, subtle salt, earthy notes, flints, and soft medicinal echoes. Dried flowers, orange peel, salty sea breeze, and sweet smoke.
Palate
Robust, well-sherried, rugged, drying, and salty sherry profile, underpinned by Orcadian peat smoke. Walnuts, heather, salt, herbal tea, a biscuity edge, raisins, black pepper, wood oil, damp hessian cloth, eucalyptus, camphory touches, tobacco, and matchsticks. Rose water, raspberries, orange peel, zesty cinnamon, salty smoke, and savory oak.
Finish
Long, with minty freshness, herbal drops, and old style ale. Lengthy, with persistent smokiness, espresso, and roasted cinnamon.
