Description

The Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year Old Lot 'B' Straight Bourbon is one of the original products bottled by Julian Van Winkle III. First released in 1991, it has been a permanent part of the range ever since. This sweet, full-bodied whiskey is described as 'nectar' by some, offering a perfect combination of age and proof. It is a highly allocated and limited annual release, aged for 12 years in new charred American white oak barrels.

Palate
Oak flavors, stone fruits, red berries, licorice, and cinnamon. Notes of caramel, vanilla, citrus, nuts, and brown spices with a medium thickness and soft texture, sometimes slightly smoky with sharp orange peel, honey, and tobacco.
Finish
A lengthy and enveloping finish with damp oak, white pepper, and ginger. It is balanced and dry, with a lingering tingle, dry leather, and tannins, offering a subtle oak, warm, and subtly sweet conclusion.
