Description

The Penderyn Icons of Wales #6 - Royal Welsh Whisky is the sixth release in the popular Icons of Wales series. This single malt Welsh whisky commemorates the original Welsh Whisky distillery at Frongoch, near Bala, which closed over 100 years ago. It is a tribute to the Royal Welsh Whisky that received a royal warrant in 1895. Penderyn, the first distillery in Wales in over a century, uses a unique Faraday still to produce its whisky.

Palate
Sweet smoky toffee and treacle notes, with a trace of cracked black pepper, malted barley, and soft fudge sweetness. Creamy mouthfeel with notes of ripe apples, citrus peel, and gentle hints of spice.
Finish
The smokiness slowly departs, leaving a lingering delicate vanilla and wood spice final note, with sweet malt, honey, and delicate oak tannins.
