Description

Penderyn Portwood is a Welsh Single Malt Whisky, part of Penderyn's Gold Range. It is initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels, often from Buffalo Trace, and then finished in ex-port casks. This full-bodied whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered, focusing on flavor rather than age.

Nose
Rich dried fruits with dark chocolate and cranberries; a hint of toasty oak mingles with a baked nutty dryness. Fruity with chocolatey touches, sweet, jammy, creamy with some toffee and wood spice.
Palate
A creamy richness with some honey and spiced notes emerging. Rounded and warming with more sweet, rich fruit and plum wine. Metallic grapey dark fruit, earthy, malty sweet, brown sugar, cinnamon and leather.
Finish
Smooth with a soft oak and honey sweetness lingering gently on the tongue. Sweet goji berries and caramel. Peppery, oaky, with earthy notes which linger.
