Description

This brief Flora & Fauna release was the only distillery bottling of Pittyvaich in its lifetime, and only a handful of limited editions have followed. The distillery was intended to increase provision for the company's blends but its acquisition by Guinness in 1985 eventually led to its closure in 1993 and demolition in 2002. The wooden-boxed versions of these single malts were produced in 1991. This bottle is part of the much collected Flora and Fauna range.

Nose
Fresh and fruity with notes of green apples, pears, pineapple chunks, and a hint of floral heather. Delicate floral/herbal note. Spicy warmth from oak, cereal, and malted barley.
Palate
Light and smooth with flavors of vanilla, honey, and subtle spices, complemented by a touch of malt. Coating with vanilla and oak flavours. Oily nuts, dark chocolate, espresso beans, and developing oak.
Finish
Medium length with a gentle sweetness and a lingering fruitiness. Tannic and long and full in the mouth. Sugary, winey, oaky, a bit bitter, like green mangos.
