Description
This heavily peated single malt whisky from Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte range was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2018 at 9 years old. It was initially matured for six years in a combination of French and American oak casks, then finished for two years in ex-Sicilian wine (Marsala) casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 56.3% ABV, it was released as part of the Cask Exploration Series, specifically for the Travel Retail market. The barley used was 100% Scottish barley from Invernesshire, peated to 40 ppm. Only 30,000 bottles were produced, and it is non-chill filtered.
