Nose
Initial notes of smoked barley, sea spray, toasted oak, and lemon zest. It also presents with farmyard aromas, mandarins, peaches, and a hint of brine and coal smoke. Some describe it as delicate with earthy wood smoke, vanilla, and toffee, or with graphite, petrol, and mineral notes.
Palate
A creamy and oily texture with cake-y vanilla, dried earth, and a subtle ash. Flavors of pepper, cinnamon, apples, and citrus are present, along with orange creamsicle, peaches and cream, and a soft, weighty smoke. It can also be described as clean, ashy, peaty, and briny with hints of kippers and liquorice.
Finish
Long and smoky, with notes of bacon crisps, thyme honey, and hay. It is rich and fruity with a light sweetness, and a lingering sooty ash note.
