Nose
Full-bodied aroma, wild, with notes of smoked ham and bacon evolving to tar and new tyres. Also hot butter, nougat, peated malt, flinty, mineral, chalky, and lemony notes.
Palate
A much greater presence of peat than the nose suggests, with smokiness quickly hitting and then tapering off. Amazingly assertive, superbly lemony and peaty, wild, beautifully bitter (strong liquorice), with touches of salt and camphory notes. Ultra-big notes of lemon marmalade, grapefruit, tinned pineapple, candied lemons, and hints of blackcurrants.
Finish
Long, spicy, smooth, with mild ginger, peat, vanilla, and savory smokiness.
