Description

Fercullen 20 Years Old Five Elements 2021 is a limited-edition Irish single malt whiskey, made by combining various cask types for a genuinely complex, flavoursome and unique character. Fercullen is a brand from the Powerscourt Distillery in Wicklow, a few kilometres south of Dublin. Powerscourt was founded in 2018, and sources spirit from other distilleries while the distillery's own whiskey is still gently maturing. To create Fercullen 20 Years Old Five Elements 2021, Master Distiller Noel Sweeney took a rare 16-year-old single malt that was matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, and finished it in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximénez, Marsala and Muscatel casks. Finally, he married the whiskey with a 20-year-old bourbon-matured single malt.

Malt, citrus, boiled sweets, vanilla and honey with a twist of lemon, ripe fruits, plums, raisins, cinnamon, tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, banana, oak and a hint of nuttiness.
Palate
Layer upon layer of smooth silky sweet malt, orange, fruit cocktail, chocolate, Christmas cake, tropical fruit and red grape skins. Waves of complexity and taste.
Finish
Long lasting sweetness from ripe fruits and cream with a velvet texture almost mouth-watering to finish, yet a dry finish; medium, sweet and spicy, on darker fruits, milk chocolate and toffee.
