Nose
Light caramel syrup, molasses, a hint of red-wine sherry, raspberry, strawberry, plum, granite, slate, generic grain, corn flakes, orange peel, varnish, leather, old musty floor boards, brambles, grapevine, charcoal, wood smoke, waxy, buttercream frosting, vinegar drink, barnyard straw and hay, ozone/summer rain shower. Hints of chocolate, coffee bean, toffee, and subtle herbal undertones.
Palate
Light tasting entry building sweetness, ruby fruits and malt. Full and thick mouthfeel like chewing caramel. Flavors build into smoke, mud/clay, barnyard straw and old pan grease. A nice peppery spice note with some Sherry, peat, cream, and a mix of fragrant spices.
Finish
Clean transition from taste to finish. The smoke/mud/straw become darker and persistent. Fruit, soot and bitter herbal notes show up with a long and warming taper. Slightly oaky and nutty, with a short and light woody finish.
