Nose
Opens with malty aromas, fresh cut grass and hay, followed by floral vanilla, moss, and heather. Notes of yellow and tropical fruits including oranges, peach, pineapple, and banana, with undertones of plums and red berries. Hints of nail polish, sawdust, and a whisper of smoke. Aromas of gooseberry, pear, hint of ginger, light toffee, sage and eucalyptus.
Palate
Concentrated alcohol initially, developing into an oily mouthfeel with flavors of vanilla custard, coconut, fresh wood, and pepper. Some saltiness and a hint of peat, followed by tangy orange marmalade and peach. Taste of raisins, cardamom, candied ginger, oak spices, marzipan, a buttery taste and light peak smoke.
Finish
Long, quite sweet and fruity. Initially slightly drying oak with cigar smoke. Hay and grass return, with lingering fruity notes of peach, banana, and orange. Long warming finish with lingering spices, oak tannins and a touch of mint.
