Description
The history of the Rosebank distillery is closely tied to the Forth & Clyde Canal, which stretches at its feet. This waterway connected Scotland's west and east coasts, as well as its two main cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh. A distillery named Rosebank was operating as early as 1817. From 1840, under the management of the Rankine family, Rosebank thrived. However, the canal fell into neglect, and the distillery finally closed in 1993. It reopened under new management in 2024, with a grand fanfare. This edition, a forgotten work of art, is one of the oldest and rarest Rosebank single malts ever released. Distilled in 1991, this whisky aged 32 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel and was bottled in 2024 for Gordon & MacPhail's 'Recollection Series 3'.
