- Nose
- Snickers-bar toffee and nuts with rich Eccles cake raisin, maraschino cherry and plump sultanas. Baking spice and dark fruit cake build, along with marshmallow fluff sweetness, grainy biscuits and chocolate – Tunnock's teacakes in a glass, with notes of ginger, stewed plum, tart cranberry, orange, lemon, brown sugar, cardamom, apple, melon, pear, and a hint of dunnage and ash.
- Palate
- Surprisingly soft, despite the strength, with a rich and chewy texture of toffee. Sweetness continues with darker savoury notes of singed casks, burnt toast, dark rye bread and molasses. Medium mouthfeel, peppery and spicy with white pepper, cinnamon, wood spice, cardamom, clove, orange, cranberry, and apricot. Intense malt notes with milder Sherry influence, milk chocolate, figs, and a fresh lemon note.
- Finish
- Rich brown sugar, molasses and treacle toffee linger with flashes of dark spice. Elegant and long-lasting with soft, oily oak, sweeter fruits of orange and raspberry. Black pepper and drying oak come and go, with an aftertaste of bell peppers, caramel, lemon peel, mocha, spices, pear, and vanilla.
