Description

Royal Salute was created to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. The Small Batch programme allows Royal Salute's Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, to release rare and exclusive cask finished whiskies from his distillers reserve inventory. This 25 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a Travel Retail Exclusive and part of a limited series, featuring carefully selected whiskies finished in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

Initial aromas of rich plums, milk chocolate raisins, toffee apples, vanilla fudge, heather honey, subtle nutmeg spice, homemade strawberry jam, dried apricots, red apples, soft caramel, coconut sponge cake, hints of blossom honey, rhubarb and ginger jam, raspberry coulis, roasted hazelnut, carrot cake, cinnamon, and charred oak.
Palate
Baked apples, spiced poached pears, chocolate ice cream, star anise, clove, cinnamon spice, sweet pineapple, mango sorbet, pear crumble, orange chocolate, sweet vanilla, ginger spice, dark chocolate covered prunes, sultanas, and sweet, charred oak.
Finish
Long, dry, slightly spicy, and jammy, leaving a lasting impression of rich sweetness.
