Description

Wakatsuru Shuzo, established in 1862, began producing whisky in 1952, making Saburomaru Distillery the oldest whisky distillery in the Hokuriku region of Japan. The distillery, located in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, is known for its unique ZEMON cast pot still and its focus on peated whiskies. The Saburomaru 2021 V The Hierophant is the fifth release in their Tarot series, distilled in 2021 and bottled in 2024. This heavily peated single malt Japanese whisky was produced using aged ale yeast alongside fresh whisky yeast, contributing to a mature and thick aroma. It is a limited edition small batch release of 12,600 bottles.
