Nose
Aromas of clove, sweet vanilla, anise, and pepper are prominent, often accompanied by allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and dried fruit. Hints of orange zest, honey, mint, and a light oakiness can also be detected.
Palate
The taste offers subtle notes of candied spices and citrus, evolving into flavors of burnt caramel, dried herbs, black pepper, and dill pickle. Cinnamon spice, sweet mint, crushed peppercorns, toffee, fig cake, and red berries are also present, balanced by vanilla and caramel creaminess.
Finish
The finish is smooth and medium to long, with lingering hints of licorice, mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, and pepper. Caramel sweetness and peppery rye spice complement each other, sometimes with drying oak characteristics and notes of nutty marzipan.
