Description
Scallywag is the latest in a long line of Douglas Laing's family fox terriers. This cheeky little rascal (Scallywag) with his one remaining front tooth is as lively and full of character as they come. Named after him, this limited edition release is a Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, matured exclusively from Speyside, including, amongst others, single malts distilled at Macallan, Mortlach and Glenrothes distilleries. The old gold rich colour is extracted from the very fine Spanish Sherry butts. On the palate it carries a spiced character on the nose. Alongside this, the palate is rich with a buttery layer on layer of macerated fruit and dark chocolate fused with cinnamon. The finish displays a bouquet of orange rind with mocha and toasted oak. With a pedigree like this, Scallywag is bottled at 48% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration, allowing the natural character of the spirit to shine through.
