Description

Scapa distillery, located on the Orkney Mainland, was founded in 1885. It is known for producing unpeated single malt whisky, drawing water from the Lingro Burn. This particular release is a 12 Year Old Distillery Exclusive, distilled in 2009 and matured in first fill American oak barrels. It was bottled in April 2021 at 48.2% ABV, with a limited outturn of 1998 bottles. Scapa is one of only two distilleries on Orkney, offering a lighter, creamier, and fruitier profile compared to its peated neighbor, Highland Park. [4, 6, 7]
