This 1988 Island single malt from Scapa distillery was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2018 for its Connoisseurs Choice series, having spent three decades in a single refill bourbon barrel. Only 148 bottles were released worldwide at cask strength, 53.8% vol.

Sweet and fruity with notes of cereals, apples, wood polish, fresh citrus, tropical fruits, pineapple juice, mango, papaya, butter cream caramel, vanilla, wet chipped wood, mineral notes, chalk, buttercups, olive oil, salt, and ozone.
Palate
Bursting with tropical fruits, full-bodied and syrupy, with sharpness of citrus fruit and pineapple, spices including white pepper, mustard seed, flinty and mineralic notes. Thick creamy malt vanilla custard on a sweet bread sponge bed with lemons, orange marmalade, and raspberries. Salty and mineral traits.
Finish
Long, sweet and spiced, aniseed and oak wood. Lingering butterscotch, oak and herbal influences.
