Description
Scapa Glansa is the first peated single malt expression from the Scapa Distillery, located on the Orkney Islands. Released in 2016, its name 'Glansa' means 'storm-laden skies' in Old Norse, reflecting the dramatic contrasts of its island home. This no-age-statement whisky is initially matured in first-fill American oak casks before being finished in casks that previously held heavily peated malt whisky, imparting a subtle smokiness to Scapa's signature smooth, honeyed profile. It is described as a gentle introduction to peated whiskies.
