Description

Shizuoka Pot Still W 100% Imported Barley 1st Edition is a single malt Japanese whisky produced at Shizuoka distillery, founded in 2016. It is made from 100% imported barley malt, with 70% being peated Scottish malt, 20% unpeated Scottish malt, and 10% German beer malt. The whisky was distilled in a wood-fired pot still (Pot Still W) and matured in ex-bourbon and new American oak barrels for 3-5 years. This is the first smoky single malt from Shizuoka and was released in mid-2022. The distillery acquired equipment from the legendary Karuizawa Distillery.
