Description
The Shizuoka United S 2023 Summer Edition is a Japanese single malt whisky that combines distillates from the distillery's two primary stills: the steam-heated still K (sourced from the original Karuizawa Distillery) and the wood-fired still W. Still K produces fruity and light flavors, while still W adds a heavy flavor and long finish. The whisky is made using Japanese barley malt, Scottish non-peat malt, peated malt, and beer malt. It is matured primarily in first-fill bourbon barrels, along with wine barrels. Bottled in summer 2023 at 50.5% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has no added color. This limited edition release harmonizes the different characteristics of the two stills, creating a smooth and well-balanced character.
