Description

That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles single malt and grain whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with humorous puns presented in cultish comic-book style labels: the purpose is to tell the histories and stories of distilleries or prominent figures in the industry but in a new exciting way. This particular release is a 13-year-old Irish Single Malt, Batch #2, from an undisclosed Irish distillery, with 2,200 bottles released.

Nose
A lovely soft aroma of apple pie with cinnamon, fresh cherry blossom, dried grass with ground almonds and soft oak are the main aromas riding from the glass with a subtle hint of honey and fresh citrus peels in the background. Seriously fruity. Lots of creamy apricot, raspberry, strawberry, and apple. Floral and grassy, freshly cut hay notes, Shredded Wheat breakfast cereal. White grapes, red apples and cooked pears. Plenty of vanilla-rich wafts follow, along with a touch of coconut.
Palate
Again this is rather fruity with those soft notes of apples and pears along with a subtle tropical flavour. The spices are soft with cinnamon and ginger being the most noticeable, there is also a subtle digestive biscuit note buried in the background. Apple and apricot again, along with sweet spices: cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and even some root ginger. Some darker fruits creep in too: plums and figs. Slightly hoppy. Creamy, mouth-filling texture. Bright citrus notes kick things off, joined by nectarine, quince, milky coffee and praline.
Finish
Fading spices and fruit. More apricot and lots of wood spices. Slightly nutty on the finish with almond and walnut, though still rich in fresh fruit sweetness.
