Nose
Slightly floral, with ripe pear, lemon sherbet and rice paper. A touch of lime zest, along with a pleasant but gentle wood smoke, menthol and tomato stem. With time, some workshop aromas emerge: sawdust, Danish oil and a delicate varnish note. Candied peanuts, earthy peat, Seville orange marmalade on toast. Vanilla pod earthiness bolstered by foresty, grassy peat. A touch of chocolate hiding away in there.
Palate
Eucalyptus, some pear drop, a little more of that lime citrus edge. Somewhat herbal with a touch of brine, like a not-so-dirty, dry vermouth-heavy Martini. More peanut notes – now it's peanut brittle! Malty vanilla and some peppery sandalwood. Grilled orchard fruit and vanilla sponge, before waves savoury peat and coastal air come along.
Finish
Very gentle wood smoke, more pear drop and green apple skin. BBQ charred lemon and a dry spiciness. The smoky notes remain for minutes afterwards, with hints of dried oak.
