Description

Part of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society's Heresy small-batch range (Batch 29), Caramel Cascade is a 12-year-old Irish single malt whiskey created in collaboration with Dunville's. Distilled on 30 November 2011, it was matured in 1st fill bourbon barrels and Palo Cortado sherry hogsheads, bottled at 50.0% ABV in an outturn of 1,285 bottles.

Enticing wafts of varnish, exotic woods, and supple leather jigged around an old wine cellar, occasionally glancing off baked banana and oily serrano ham.
Palate
Honey and treacle cascaded like liquid gold, meandering between venerable bottles of vintage wine, followed by stewed apples, ripe mango, caramelised walnuts and nutmeg.
Finish
A waterfall of chocolate and cherry liqueur tumbling over hazelnut spread, with delicate petals, rosehips, nut brittle, coffee, caramel, mint leaves, plums and lavender honey.
