Description

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by Phillip 'Pip' Hills, inspired by whiskies drawn straight from the cask. This 7-year-old blended malt, Batch #4 of 'The Peat Faerie' series, is a marriage of whiskies distilled in Speyside and Islay in October 2010. It was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and refill hogsheads. This lightly peated expression yielded 2172 bottles.

An earthy smoke, mustiness, vanilla, pineapple, white chocolate, brine, coconut, and apple cider.
Palate
Peat is upfront, with lemon, sourdough, ginger, tropical fruits, salty peanut brittle, caramelised red apples, and watermelon jelly. It has a thin mouthfeel.
