Description

Spey Tenne Tawny Port Cask Finish is a single malt whisky from Speyside Distillery. It is initially aged in bourbon casks before being finished for six months in Tawny Port casks from the family-run Quinto de Filoco winery. This limited release is bottled at 46% ABV, is non-chill filtered, and has no added colouring. It has a minimum age of eight years.

Nose
Clean fresh fruit aroma of apples, pears, overripe bananas, milk chocolate, vanilla. Dark skinned fruits like cherry, raspberry, plum, prune, and freshly baked strawberry shortcake. Notes of red fruits, berries, a hint of rosé wine, vanilla, honey, subtle spices, grapes, and acacia honey.
Palate
Very sweet, bursting with berries (blackberry, strawberry), toasted brown sugar, vanilla syrup, candied ginger. Silky smooth and spicy with pepper, nutmeg, ginger, and licorice. Light in texture, sweet and faintly fruity, with hints of salty fudge and raspberry.
Finish
Medium to long, with dried blackberries. Long, spicy, fruity, with lingering sweetness and oakiness. Fruits are more prominent, spices take a back seat, warm and long-ish. Dries slightly, leaving a trace of almonds, citrus, candy-like sweetness, raspberry, strawberry, and vanilla fudge.
