Description

Built by drystone dyker Alex Fairlie, Speyside Distillery was commissioned in 1962 and finished in 1987, with the first spirit flowing in 1991. It is a small site with stills originally from Lochside distillery. This 15-year-old single malt is part of the revamped SPEY core range, aged initially in bourbon casks and then finished in sherry casks.

Nose
The sweet fragrance of pear intertwines with a honeyed aroma, accompanied by floral notes of lavender and dried heather. After a while, hints of Crème brûlée, stewed plum, and wood smoke emerge.
Palate
Almond and hazelnut, complemented by ripe bramble jam and sugary custard.
Finish
A lingering oily sensation remains on the tongue, warm and persistent.
