This is an unusual 20cl bottle of mid-2000s era Springbank 10-year-old. It was specially bottled by the distillery's Japanese distributor, Whisk-e. Sweet and spicy with honeycomb, citrus, tropical fruit, dunnage funk, soft smoke, and oak spice. Hints of old leather books, nougat, quinces, oranges, ozone, and wet pebbles.
Palate
Oily texture with honeycomb, pineapple sweetness, milk chocolate, marzipan, gentle woodsmoke, and rising oak spices. Peppery arrival, salted butter, charred lemon, sweet tangerines, salty, malty, citrus oils, black pepper, ginger snap, and dry smoke.
Finish
Sweet oak and gentle ginger spice with a distinct tobacco leaf/cigar-like smoke. Medium to long with bitter grass, soot, salinity, oranges, dry peat, minerals, and burnt sugar crust.
