For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century. Alas; ultimately (and perhaps inevitably) it proved unsustainable, and by 1935 the bubble had well and tru... This set includes two Springbank 5 Year Old 100º Proof Society Bottlings. The first, distilled in July 2017 and bottled in March 2023, matured in a fresh Bourbon Barrel and had an outturn of 2,166 bottles. The second, distilled in June 2019 and bottled in October 2024, matured in fresh sherry casks and had an outturn of 1,900 bottles. Both are bottled at 57.1% ABV exclusively for the Springbank Society.
