Description

This limited edition 25-year-old Springbank single malt was distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2006. Matured for 25 years in refill Sherry butts, only 1,200 bottles were released. It is an official distillery bottling from Springbank, a Campbeltown distillery known for performing every step of the whisky-making process on-site, and is non-chill filtered.

Nose
Very pleasant and lovely aromas, with notes of ripe stonefruit and pear, sweet, clear, and direct. Underlying rich, buttery porridge, sun-warmed hay, cocoa, raisins, and prunes.
Palate
A rich, complex, and smooth taste. Dark-skinned plums, sweet cream butter, candied grapefruit peel dipped in milk chocolate. Leathery, almost tobacco-like flavors, with a light hint of medicinal peat.
Finish
Perfect, long-lasting finish, cocoa-inflected with soft bitterness and a nice hit of salt. Earthy, with chocolate and spicy oak.
