This Springbank 1970 36 Year Old is an independent bottling by Signatory Vintage, part of their Cask Strength Collection. Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 and is one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. This release was matured for 36 years in a First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, Cask Number 1629, and bottled in 2006.

Nose
Buttery, very old wood with lots of spices (nutmeg, ginger), dusty toffee, deep sugary raisins, with lovely spiciness and toasted wood after breathing.
Palate
Woody and dry, with chewy sweetness and roundness. Bitterness from the wood, coffee (Espresso), warming chocolate, cough bonbons. Later some mint and furniture wax.
Finish
Nice throat coating finish.
