Description

A revered single malt distillery in Campbeltown that has operated since 1828. It is today owned by J&A Mitchell & Co who produce three single malt styles there. These are its flagship two-and-half times distilled Springbank, a heavily-peated malt known as Longrow, and the triple-distilled Hazelburn. An iconic Italian importer and independent bottler, founded in Genoa in 1980 by Pepi Mongiardino. It is known for its beautifully designed labels and quality liquid. This Springbank 1993 Lawless is a single cask bottling released in 2015 for Moon Import's 35th anniversary.

Nose
Sweet aromas of pink peppercorn, lavender, gentian, almonds, and rosewood. Also notes of mustiness, old books, old furniture, a slight coastal fresh influence, and pencil shavings.
Palate
Sea salt, tobacco, honeycomb, fresh almonds, and soft barley. It is quite dry, savory, and nutty, with citrus rind, bitter orange peel, classic malty notes from a bourbon cask, and white pepper.
Finish
Quite drying, with bitterness and a short linger. Ashy, with lemons, mineral notes, and dried herbs.
