Nose
The aroma is dry sherry, licorice, and rich oak. The overall impression is strong and intense. Dark chocolate, coffee, salmiak.
Palate
The taste is dominated by tasty sherry. Although the sherry is strong and dominant, the oak feels surprisingly strong. Dry, 'tight' and quite challenging. Espresso, strong dark chocolate.
Finish
In the aftertaste, oak becomes dominant, although sherry also remains strong. The whisky now feels really dry. Raw, sour fruitiness. Fresh ripe berries bring a small sweet nuance in the midst of the dryness. The taste lasts a really long time. A strong oak and sherry-dominated Springbank.
