Nose
Big, layered and soft. Oak/cedar notes and smoke. Linseed oil, sesame, melted candle, wet vegetation. Light heather, peat then dried fruit. Oranges, hints of chocolate, demerara sugar, dust, peaches, and hints of smoke. Sweet dried fruit: raisins, apricot, a bit of orange peel, with some salt and brandied apricot.
Palate
Rounded, sweet and complex with a concentrated wild berry fruit character mixed with tarry ropes and black cherry. Salt leading the way, along with a lick of smoke and some savoury gunpowder; dried fruit behind. Sweeter with cherry emerging.
Finish
Long. Smoke, dark chocolate, and briary fruits. Salt and saltpeter fade out together, with a big salty finish and fruits hidden inside it all.
