Description

Stauning Bastard is a Danish rye-based whisky, the second release in Stauning's experimental Research Series. It is made from locally sourced rye and barley, floor-malted at the distillery, and double-distilled in flame-heated pot stills. The whisky is matured for at least three years in toasted virgin American oak casks, followed by a finishing period of at least six months in mezcal casks sourced from Oro de Oaxaca in Mexico. This process creates a distinct and complex flavor profile, marrying Scandinavian rye with smoky agave influences.
