Description
The creator of two of the world's most recognisable whisky brands (Black & White, and Buchanan's), James Buchanan was one of the great businessmen of his time. Tenacious and charismatic, his salesmanship led to the securing of several distribution contracts in London; including one for his blend to be the official whisky of the House of Commons. Capitalising on this success allowed him to expand his business. James Buchanan & Company is a dormant subsidiary of the drinks giant, Diageo, who inherited it and its brands from United Distillers in 1997. They continue to market a number of the company's most notable products in various export markets however, including its Buchanan's and Black & White blends. Strathconon is a unique blend of four Highland malt scotch whiskies, Aultmore, Glenlossie, Glentauchers and Mortlach and is bottled by James Buchanan & Co.
