Nose
A lot of sherry, very warm, peaches, figs, leather, shoe polish, a bit of dust and some oakiness. Rich, slightly heady sherried character with prunes, figs, raspberry jam, menthol, and waxed oak furniture. Hints of coffee, wood smoke, sandalwood, and dried herbs.
Palate
Still a lot of sherry, very dry, quite thin with an edge. Chalky and tea-ish start with oak showing a bit. Nice oranges, cinnamon, raisins, and mead. Good body with sultanas, cereal sweetness, barley sugars, and charred oak notes. Sweet and sour effect with prunes, cassis, sour cherries, and hints of smoke or charred oak.
Finish
Dry and leaves a coating in the mouth, like the aftertaste of nuts. A bit short but clean, with an obvious feeling of bitter chocolate. Long and developing with wood smoke rising, liquorice, mint, and blackcurrant.
