Description

A single malt distillery on the Isle of Skye and for many years the only producer on the island. Part of the Diageo portfolio, its single malt has become one of the company's best-selling brands in recent years and it is also an important contributor to blends such as Johnnie Walker. This 25-year-old Natural Cask Strength release is a limited edition, matured predominantly in American oak hogsheads with some European oak refill casks.

Nose
Coastal and maritime with peppered peat, briny seaside notes, and smoked oysters. Fruity notes of citrus (orange, lemon, passion fruit, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, apple), chocolate, honey, and fudge. Hints of grassy, herbal, pencil shavings, and old oak.
Palate
Peaty, peppery, and salty with a rich, full-bodied, and waxy texture. Sweetness from honey, caramel, and tropical fruits (apples, plums, mirabelles, litchi, quince, pineapple, nectarines). Notes of heather, roses, licorice, marzipan, cappuccino, and chili chocolate. Firm oak and maritime character.
Finish
Long and warming with lingering pepper, smoke (sweet and earthy), spices (ginger, cinnamon), and orange zest. Notes of cedar wood, dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, and a salty, slightly bitter dryness.
