Nose
Sweeter than the standard 10 Year Old, with liberated peat and less spiciness. Notes of soft sherry, sultana pudding, sea spray, and mineral peat, with hints of vanilla, apples, and oranges.
Palate
Big, rumbling peat, initially crisp then softer, with mouthwatering grape notes. Rich, complex, and smooth, with an initial sweetness followed by intensifying peat smoke and characteristic black pepper spice. Fruit notes combine with butterscotch, brine, and delicate floral notes. Oily and smoky with salty facets, sweet dates, and woody spiciness.
Finish
Peat and cocoa combine for a sweet/dry balance. Long and perfect, with the smoke giving way to black pepper that slowly fades. Enduring and drier fruity finish with nuances of peat smoke and cocoa.
