Nose
Vibrant yet rich, with classic Talisker peppery peat smoke, caramel, dried fruit (raisin and sultana), a hint of walnut, earthy spices like ginger and clove, and a drip of orange oil. Also notes of smouldering peat, damp rope, cinder toffee, and nutmeg. [2, 8]
Palate
A lovely mouthcoating and luxurious feel, featuring a distinct peppery quality (white pepper with a hint of green chilli), drier peat reminiscent of charcoal ash and embers, and richer, sweeter elements. Dried fruits (raisin, sultana, candied citrus peel), luscious caramel and toffee, maltiness, dried green apple, and woody/earthy spices (cinnamon, all-spice, clove, more pepper). Late hints of gingerbread, milk chocolate, and walnut. Bold and full-bodied with black pepper, red berries, and barbecue smoke, treacle, and seaweed. [2, 8]
Finish
Long and drying, with sweet and fruity elements fading to leave peppery peat smoke and earthy spices. Lingering and spicy, offering chilli warmth, smoky oak, and a touch of salted caramel. [2, 8]
