Nose
Fresh and fragrant with thick, pungent coal smoke, damp grains, and a strong coastal impression. Notes of metal polish, shoe polish, green banana, mango, crystallised lemon peel, salt spray, iodine, and a hint of caramel.
Palate
A superb arrival with olive oils, tropical fruit juices, seawater, ink, green Chartreuse, boiled lime sweets, camphor, black pepper, and copper coins. It features a bonfire of peat crackling with black pepper, brine, dry barley, and orchard fruit. Silky and refined with seaweed salinity, a soft sherry influence, caramel, vanilla, and citrus.
Finish
Good length, drying, with grapefruit piths, smoked sea salt, oysters, green olives, and hessian. A soft wisp of peat smoke lingers with hints of sea salt, roasted fish, and a light touch of sherry sweetness. Long, with bonfire embers toasting malt and crystallising a sugary underlay.
