- Nose
- Very reserved, with fruit acidity, red apple skins, dried fruits, rum toffee, chocolate brownies, sooty smoke, frankincense, clove, and cedar. Also notes of pear, floral, raspberry, grapefruit, plum, nectarine, vanilla pudding, butterscotch, vibrant ripe apples & pears, hint of salt, milk chocolate, honey, golden raisins, lush seaweed, charred sticks, and a waxy/creamy fudge-like quality.
- Palate
- Slow but consistent, with autumn berries, dried fruit, cherry stones, peat, butter, walnut, salty pretzels/peanuts, marzipan, strawberry/Framboise, melon, and a dry character. Also saline, metallic/ashy peat, ripe fresh apples, lemon zest, bitter orange pith, light clove, honey, immediate dry smoke with creamy oak, almond milk, light sweet stone fruits, and a trace of salt.
- Finish
- Long, with roasted malt, black pepper, nutmeg in a smoky and savoury aftertaste. Also almond, bread dough, birch sap, sulphur, brine, dill, coffee cake, cumin, ginger-ale, cinnamon, wood smoke, and apricots. Quite long and warming, gently drying, with a hint of smoke in the moreish maritime aftertaste.
