Description

Launched in 1997, this 'finished' range from Diageo sees the Classic Malts enhanced in carefully chosen wine casks. These limited release bottlings are a wonderful alternative view of some of the world's best loved whiskies. Talisker Cask Type: Amoroso Wood 45.8% ABV / 70cl. This 2006 vintage of Talisker's Distillers Edition was double matured, with the finishing period occurring in Amoroso sherry casks, resulting in a sweet and smoky whisky.

Nose
Extremely sharp and well-focused; no lingering, rambling smoke but instead a wonderful sultana sweetness.
Palate
Crisp peat softens to enormous richness, with sweet, roasty malt and a heathery dryness. Sherry replaces the usual pepper with luscious, oily sweetness.
Finish
Deep cocoa notes, magnificent vanilla and lingering, earthy peat. Exemplary in balance between sweet and dry.
