Nose
Refined and focused, the nose centres around stewed apples, with notes of wood polish and rich cinnamon in support. Through a little oak char there's peaches in syrup. An element of rancio is present, adding superb depth.
Palate
Spicy oak tannins crackle through sharper waxy apples and more rancio. Yellow plums and bramble berries provide a complex fruity underlay, among a little golden barley and ginger biscuits. A suggestion of chocolate caramels, truffle oil and pipe tobacco leaves linger.
Finish
Soft and lingering, the finish is almost hoppy after a while.
