Description

From the Highland distillery of Teaninich comes this 12-year-old single malt, part of the Tri Carragh range. Distilled in 2013 and reracked in 2023 into a first-fill wine barrique from Cheval Blanc, it's one of just 280 bottles. Expect freshness, fruit, and a touch of wine-cask elegance in every sip. Teaninich is a Highland distillery often overlooked in the single malt world, with most of its output destined for blends. Its distinctive production method - using a mash filter instead of the traditional mash tun – gives its spirit a clean, grassy, and slightly herbal profile that shines beautifully when paired with wine casks.

Nose
A nose of unripe fruit, green grapes and white gooseberries. Very fresh and floral, like walking through a lemon grove with zestiness in the air. Green grapes, white gooseberries, and citrus zest with fresh floral notes.
Palate
The taste at full strength has an initial freshness that quickly gives way to more savoury notes – lemon cheesecake with a slight tartness and some tannins (but only very slight). Bright and zesty at first, mellowing into lemon cheesecake, tart fruit, and subtle oak tannin. With water, fresh green notes and sweetness like sliced watermelon.
Finish
Smooth tinned fruit flavours with a nice medium finish prolongs the enjoyment. Medium length with gentle sweetness and smooth tinned fruit tones.
