Nose
The nose opens with a gentle waft of peat smoke, intertwined with vibrant aromas of dried fruits, such as figs and raisins, imparted by the Madeira cask. Subtle notes of vanilla and honey add sweetness, while a hint of citrus zest and toasted almonds rounds out the complexity.
Palate
On the palate, the initial sweetness of caramelized fruits and honey melds with the smoky backbone. The influence of the Madeira Hogsheads introduces layers of spiced fruitcake, orange peel, and a touch of dark chocolate, balanced by the underlying peat and a whisper of oak spice.
Finish
The finish is long and warming, with the Madeira's rich fruitiness slowly fading into a harmonious blend of lingering peat smoke, gentle spices, and a final touch of sweet oak. The interplay between the cask influences leaves a well-rounded and satisfying impression.
