Description

A picturesque malt distillery in Speyside, originally built by American distillers, Schenley, in 1958. The distillery has long associations with the blending industry, particularly the Long John brand. This specific bottling is a 24-year-old Tormore from 1995, bottled in 2019 by Le Gus't, a French wine and spirits wholesaler, as part of their Selection XX series.

Nose
A nice concentration of fruits, honey and floral notes, with apricot, apple, pear, mango, peach, rose petal and orange oil. Sweetness with peach candy, sultana, cookie dough, vanilla, honey, almond, licorice and a touch of aniseed. Old school waxy notes, sunflower oil, engine oil, paraffin, burlap, mineral, citrus, yellow apple, apricot pie, minty notes.
Palate
Oily, a little tart, with apricot, grapefruit, pear, cherry blossom, kiwi, peach candy, honey, sultana and custard. Muesli, tonic water, whole grain mustard, menthol, and a small salty note. Fresh fruity notes like yellow plums, peaches, oranges, banana, herbal honey, pine wood, subtle zesty bitterness (grapefruit).
Finish
Long with malt, icing sugar, dried fruit, sultana, eucalyptus and licorice. Citrusy and totally fresh. Hints of melon, cinnamon, and strong tea.
